Fierce Fifth Graders
Photosynthesis
Photosynthes is a chemical change by which green plants make their food. Plants use energy from the sun to turn water and carbon dioxide into food (sugars), and they release oxygen.
''Photo'' means with sun and ''photosynthesis'' is putting together with light.
Plants are green because of chlorophyll. This sustance helps the plan use light to transform water and carbon dioxide into sugar and oxygen.
The oxygen released by the plan makes it possible for people and animals to breathe.
Most plants absorb water through their roots
